- Michael Murphy - Targeting molecules to mitochondria, mitochondrial radical production, thiol redox state and redox signalling
- John Walker - Studies of signalling pathways in mitochondria by proteomic methods
- John Walker - Assembly of respiratory complexes in mitochondria

Bioinformatics
- Alan Robinson - Computer modelling of mitochondrial metabolism and bioenergetics
- Edmund Kunji and Alan Robinson - Virtual screening and inhibitor design against the mitosomal ADP/ATP carrier of Entamoeba histolytica
