Each year, the Unit awards several (up to 10) MRC studentships on a competitive basis to eligible students. The studentship pays for Cambridge University and College fees, and each student receives a stipend of £15,275 per annum. This stipend consists of the basic £13,590 per annum provided by the MRC, plus an additional payment of £1,685 per annum from the Unit's funds. The Ph D studentships are awarded for either three or four years of study.

Eligibility

Students who either are UK nationals or have established UK residency are eligible for the award of a full MRC studentship. Students from the EU are entitled to receive a fees only award. However, there are additional circumstances that can qualify an EU student for a full award.
