MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit

 

Professor Patrick Chinnery has been awarded The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries' most prestigious award - The Galen Medal in Therapeutics.

The Medal is awarded in recognition of valuable services or contributions to the science of therapeutics. It has been awarded to Patrick for his work developing treatments for mitochondrial diseases, which are inherited disorders affecting how we produce energy from the food we eat.

Patrick is a fellow of Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge and leads the Cambridge Clinical Mitochondrial Research Group, based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the MBU.
